They massage horses, don’t they?

Polo was outstanding this weekend at Tacoma Polo Club. Beautiful weather, newly mown grass and lots of people. A formula for fun if I ever heard one.

The lesson on Sunday morning was fun as well. We scrimmaged the last 10 minutes. Virginia and Shane joining Kelsey, Sara, Misti and me in a three-on-three chukker on the practice field. Virginia and I played back and each coached our teams. Hitting and polo riding drills are great building blocks, but putting them into practice brings it all together.

Life as a polo instructor

This blog is an intermittent chronicle of a former farmgirl (that would be me) who has returned to country life in a new career as a polo instructor after more than 30 years as a photojournalist and portrait photographer.

I took my first foray into polo school marketing tonight. I donned my best polo shirt, whites and boots, and attended a Tacoma Chamber of Commerce get together at the Adriatic Grill. Dressed as I was, it was really easy to open conversations.
